We are now a well established workshop in Lindford, having opened in April 2011.
We have over 25 years of experience in the Motor Trade and as such are experienced to handle anything from a routine service through to a complete engine rebuild.
We use the same diagnostic technology as the main dealers, but wont charge you the earth for it..... Come and put us to the test!
Robert Hay, Director / Proprietor
Robert has been working in the motor trade since 2000, with a background in both sales and service. He started working for Citroen as a trainee Sales Executive and quickly progressed to the position of Senior Sales Executive within his first year. Robert continued in this position for a further four years, helping new people come into the motor trade and teaching them all that he knew, how to look after each and every customer they met, hopefully not only fulfilling their requirements, but exceeding them. He then followed an offer to work for Peugeot as Branch Manager before making the decision to work for himself and start his own car sales business. This naturally progressed into the formation of R&M Mechanics. Robert commented;
“Owning your own company has and never will be about getting rich, it’s about having the freedom and a better quality of life, being able to spend more time with his daughter, at the same time as making sure every customer that uses R&M Mechanics leaves feeling well looked after and above all else, happy."
Robert enjoys spending his spare time with his family and off road competitions, linked into his love for Land Rovers. As part of the Thames Valley 4x4 club, Robert enjoys learning new, advanced driving skills, pushing himself and his limits.
Karl McGurik, Senior Mechanic / Director
Karl began his training as a mechanic in 2007, which was a natural progression with his passion for motor vehicles. Following the completion of Level 1, 2 and 3 of his mechanical training at college as an apprentice Karl progressed in the industry at Nissan. Thriving in his position at Nissan he went on to work at a Nissan / Vauxhall specialist, before joining R&M Mechanics in 2012. He has become an integral member of our team. As soon as the opportunity presented itself, Karl purchased a share of the business and is proud to be one of our Director’s.
In his spare time Karl enjoys indulging his true love of WRC (World Rally Championship), often attending Championship events and going on race days. Karl also has a passion for collecting model cars, especially Porsche’s.
Jordan Holt, Apprentice Mechanic
Jordan joined R&M Mechanics under the apprenticeship scheme. He comes from a long lineage of mechanics within his family. He is currently qualified to level two and is working hard towards his third level, which completes his mechanic's qualification.
Currently studying mechanics since 2013 at Farnborough College of Technology, Jordan is a keen and enthusiastic study, someone we have great aspirations for.
In his spare time Jordan enjoys socialising and working on his track day project.
